5 KEY RULES TO CARE FOR YOUR MERINO ICE WOOL
ICE WOOL, A MERINO WOOL THAT REQUIRES LITTLE WASHING
Ice wool is a merino wool, which comes from the famous merino sheep found in Australia, among other places. Its particularity is its fineness and lightness, which allows it to be worn in all seasons. This wool also has the particularity of being anti-bacterial and breathable. This means that it can be washed less frequently and the material is easily resistant to stains.
OPT FOR HAND WASHING
In order to maintain its softness and perfect quality, we recommend washing your merino wool by hand incold water (20° maximum).
LAY YOUR MERINO WOOL FLAT AND AIR-DRY
Among its many advantages, merino wool is notable for drying particularly quickly. Machine drying is unnecessary and not recommended. Drying flat in the open air is considered the best option.
Just like cashmere, merino wool may release some pilling as a result of friction, as it is also a natural fiber.
To avoid this, try not to scrub. When washing, apply pressure on the garment instead.
You can also shave your wool regularly to remove any pilling. Find out more about our fabric shavers here..
KEEP MOTHS AWAY FROM YOUR MERINO WOOL
Just like cashmere, ice wool is a target for moths. Store your wool in a cool, dry place. For extra protection, place it in a breathable cotton or garment bag, and keep cedar wood balls in your storage space.
